Meet Julia

Hello there! So nice of you to drop by!

It’s not every day a fairy arrives at your door, so I’ve compiled a fun little list of bits and bobs so you can get to know me before I depart Fairyland!

  1. I can’t help but use a bunch of exclamation marks! Haha. Always have, always will. I’m just an excitable, bubbly person and like to emphasis things regularly. :)

  2. I have 3 rambunctious boys of my own. Well, 4 if you include my husband :) My son’s are aged 3, 6 & 8 and I’m so loving this current stage of parenting. I’m that Mum that loves the school holidays and have always wanted to be a real life Mary Poppins… A fun Mum that also wears lippy!

  3. I’m super dooper organised, creative and throw a damn good dinner party. If I’m not organising a themed party for one of my 2 book clubs, you can find me in my blow-up spa on the deck. I love ocean swimming & bubble baths too. I guess I just love being in the water. :)

  4. When it comes to work, I’m a relatively new Disability Support Worker, a local co-ordinator for a bunch of lovely exchange students and of course the Owner of Dummy Fairies Australia! What a gig!!

  5. And a fun fact about me is that I have been trying to learn the harp now for forever and I’m still very much a beginner student. But I’ll keep trying! Maybe in 2025 I’ll start up professional lessons again because it really is something I would love to get good at!

How did Dummy Fairies Australia come about?

Many years ago when my eldest son was about 2, it was near Christmas time and I really wanted to be done with the dummy. I had organised for my Dad to come over dressed as Santa and the plan was Dad was going to take my son’s dummies and then give him a toy tractor. The plan worked!

Fast forward a few years and my sister-in-law was in a similar situation with her daughter so I offered my Dad’s Santa-dummy-taking-services! Hahaha. We chatted about all the different ways parents are trying to get rid of the dummy and she told me about the Dummy Fairy. I had no idea this magical creature existed!!

I looked it up and wondered if there was actually a real life person getting around town being the Dummy Fairy. There wasn’t. So, I jumped at the chance to make this role my own because really, how fun would it be to play a real life fairy, whilst also getting to meet lovely families, enjoy running my own business and twirl around in a beautiful pair of wings! And so Dummy Fairies Australia was created. :)

You can be dummy-free in no time.
